The VoxAction User Interface
VoxAction runs mostly in the background. Day-to-day dictation happens through global hotkeys, while the system tray menu and settings window control configuration, updates, and account state.
System Tray Menu
Right-click the VoxAction icon in the Windows system tray to open the main menu:
- On: activates VoxAction hotkeys.
- Off: deactivates VoxAction hotkeys without closing the app.
- Settings...: opens the settings window.
- Help: opens the online VoxAction help.
- Report a bug: opens the Nurgo Software support page with product and version details.
- Check for updates: checks whether a newer version is available.
- Exit: closes VoxAction.
Double-clicking the tray icon opens Settings.

The settings window has five sections.

Footer Buttons
The settings window has three footer buttons:
- OK: saves changes and closes settings.
- Cancel: closes settings without applying unsaved changes.
- Apply: saves changes and keeps settings open.
When you apply changes, the background VoxAction daemon reloads the configuration.
Floating Status Indicator
When recording or processing, VoxAction displays a small floating indicator near the active window. It uses different states for dictation, translation, and AI assisted editing.
During recording, the indicator reflects microphone input level and recording progress. After recording, it changes to show that VoxAction is transcribing, translating, or editing.
