Hotkeys
VoxAction uses global Windows hotkeys to start and stop voice workflows.
Default Hotkeys
| Workflow | Default hotkey | Availability |
| Dictation | Alt+1 |
Nurgo AI or Whisper-compatible API |
| Translation | Alt+2 |
Nurgo AI only |
| AI assisted editing | Alt+3 |
Nurgo AI only |
Translation and AI assisted editing hotkeys are registered only when Nurgo AI is selected.
Change a Hotkey
- Open Settings.
- Go to Hotkeys.
- Open the hotkey selector for the workflow you want to change.
- Choose modifiers and a key.
- Click Apply or OK.
Use a combination that does not conflict with Windows or your main applications.
Clear a Hotkey
Open the hotkey selector and press Delete to clear the selected hotkey.
Push-to-Talk
Turn on Allow push-to-talk if you want to hold a hotkey while speaking and stop recording when you release it.
When push-to-talk is enabled, you can still use toggle behavior: press once to start and press again to stop.
Hotkey Conflicts
If a hotkey does not work:
- another app may already use it,
- the active app may intercept it,
- VoxAction may be turned Off in the tray menu,
- the selected AI service may not support that workflow,
- VoxAction may not have sufficient permission for the active environment.
Try a different hotkey combination that is not used elsewhere.
