AI Assisted Editing

AI assisted editing lets you select existing text, speak an instruction, and replace the selected text with the rewritten result.

This feature requires a Nurgo AI subscription.

Basic Workflow

  1. Select text in an application.
  2. Press the AI assisted editing hotkey.
  3. Say what you want VoxAction to do.
  4. Press the hotkey again, or release it if push-to-talk is enabled and you are holding the key.
  5. VoxAction sends the selected text and your spoken instruction to the AI service, then inserts the edited result.

The default AI assisted editing hotkey is Alt+3 .

Example Voice Instructions

You can say instructions such as:

  • "Make this shorter."
  • "Rewrite this in a friendly tone."
  • "Translate this into English."
  • "Summarize this in two bullets."
  • "Make this more formal."
  • "Fix grammar and punctuation."
  • "Simplify this for a customer."
  • "Refactor the selected code and keep the behavior the same."
  • "Rename the selected variable to something clearer."

The exact result depends on the selected text, your instruction, nearby context, dictionary entries, and the AI service response.

What VoxAction Sends

For AI assisted editing, VoxAction may send:

  • the selected text,
  • your voice recording,
  • enabled dictionary entries,
  • nearby context before the selected text.

This information helps the service understand your instruction and produce the rewritten text.

Good Practices

  • Select only the text you want to change.
  • Give one clear instruction at a time.
  • Mention tone, length, audience, or format when it matters.
  • Use the dictionary for names, acronyms, and product terms.
  • Review AI-edited text before sending or publishing it.

Limitations

AI assisted editing depends on the target application exposing selected text and accepting replacement or paste input. It may not work in secure fields, restricted apps, remote environments, or applications that block clipboard insertion.
