TidyTabs Configuration > Groups
Here you can define rules to automatically group windows together. This is useful when you want to keep related windows together, such as all the windows of a specific application, or all windows of the same kind (e.g. all text editors, all web browsers, etc.). When a new window is opened, TidyTabs will check the rules you defined and group the window with the other windows that match the same rules. If no rule matches, the window will be left ungrouped. To access this screen, double-click on the TidyTabs tray icon, at the bottom-right corner of the screen, and click on GROUPS.
Note: The Groups feature is only available in the Professional Edition of TidyTabs.
The GROUPS tab
- Add button: click on this button to add a new group. A Group Editor dialog will open, allowing you to specify the rules for the new group.
- Delete button: click on this button to remove the selected group.
- Edit button: click on this button to edit the selected group. A Group Editor dialog will open, allowing you to modify the rules of the group.
Tips:
- The order of the groups is important. TidyTabs will check the rules in the order they are listed, and will group the window with the first group that matches. You can reorder the groups by dragging them with the mouse.
- You temporarily disable a group by unchecking the checkbox next to its name. This will prevent TidyTabs from applying the rules of the group until you check the box again.
